“Up-Rooted” 16X20 Oil on Board

Up-Rooted 16X20 Oil on Board

“Up-Rooted”   This painting is a sunflower field that is in a wind storm and has up-rooted itself from the ground.   The painting effect I’m aiming for  is very old looking. Like the painting  itself has weathered and has for many years.     In our own lives we go through phases where sometimes we just don’t have  any roots to keep us in one place.  We’re just floating through life not caring where we land.   We have not established our own roots.   After a while we do settle down  when we have our own family and our own children.  By then we’ve  weathered the storm more than once but begin to put down our own roots.    This is what this painting represents to me the time in our lives when we are just Up-Rooted.
